The Best Restaurants in Marrakech

Marrakech is the most touristy city in Morocco, and it has a lot to offer! The food scene in Marrakech is especially interesting, and you will find here plenty of restaurants offering not only tasty Moroccan specialties but also delicious international dishes. If you are visiting this vibrant and beautiful destination, here are the best restaurants in Marrakech!

As a foodie, I hunted the best tables during my trip in May 2022, and I was totally seduced by the vibes and the places I discovered! Therefore, I gathered for you a list of the best places to eat in Marrakech for brunch, lunch, drinks, and dinner, including all the best rooftops!

Let’s start with the places that will interest you the most: the best rooftop bars and restaurants in Marrakech! You will love these rooftops for the views, the sunset, the vibes, and the possibility to dine al fresco especially in the evening after enduring the hot temperatures during the day!

Dardar Rooftop

Dardar is one of the best rooftop restaurants in Marrakech and my personal favorite! Located in heart of the Medina in Marrakech, you will find it at the south of Place Jemaa El-Fna. Its rooftop terrace offers a beautiful view over the Koutoubia Mosque and the Atlas Mountains. Be there for sunset to enjoy the vibes and the view!

On the menu you will find many creatives recipes inspired by the local cuisine but also from Asia, Europe, or the USA. They serve some great innovative cocktails too!

The service is on top and there is some good music with a DJ.

Prices:

Around 80 MAD for a starter (7,50€), around 150 MAD for a main (14€), and 70 MAD for a dessert (6,50€). The cocktails are around 130 MAD (12€).

What I recommend on the menu:

Their starters are especially delicious: you should order a few and share with your table. My favorite ones are the Bad Girls (with mango and avocado), the Havana Cheese (almond and honey cigars), the Djadja Nems (chicken and lemon) and the chicken pastilla

Try the frozen cocktails: yummy and super refreshing!

Kabana Rooftop

Kabana is a trendy new rooftop restaurant in Marrakech. You will find it in the Medina close to the Koutoubia Mosque. I loved their jungle and boho vibes, and their lush rooftop terrace with a view.

On the menu you will find many Mediterranean and Asian dishes, especially an interesting offer of sushi! And they serve brunch all-day from 11am to 5pm. Their drink menu is quite extended.

This place is super popular, so make sure to make a reservation before, especially if you want to come in the evening (you can DM them on Instagram for example). Walk-ins are welcome after 10:30pm and then you may be waiting for a table at the bar.

Prices:

Around 140 MAD for a starter (13€), around 160 MAD for a main (15€), and 70 MAD for a dessert (6,50€). The cocktails are around 130 MAD (12€).

What I recommend on the menu:

Their vegan falafels are a good value for money option, but all of the dishes were delicious! You should also treat yourself with some sushi as they have a sushi chef!

Try their Poptails: a creative mix of cocktails and Ice Pop!

L’mida

L’mida is one of the nicest and best rooftops in Marrakech. It’s located in the Medina and in the heart of the souk.

Their green boho rooftop terrace is perfect at the end of the day to enjoy the sun setting over the Medina and the Atlas Mountains.

The menu offers a yummy Moroccan cuisine with a modern twist. They don’t serve alcohol but tasty fresh juices.

Prices:

Around 75 MAD for a starter (7€), around 120 MAD for a main (11€), and 65 MAD for a dessert (6€). The signature juice cocktails are at 45 MAD (4€).

What I recommend on the menu:

I had the hummus and the lentils croquettes, and they were very good!

Nomad

Nomad is one of the most famous and best rooftop restaurants in Marrackech! This restaurant is in the Medina and near the souk. Their double patio offers you a lot of options to dine with a view over the Koutoubia and the vibrant Place des Épices. I recommend it at sunset!

The menu serves a modern Moroccan cuisine revisiting traditional local dishes and international dishes with a Moroccan twist. They have many vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. They don’t serve alcohol but have nice fresh juices.

Prices:

Around 70 MAD for a starter (6,50€), around 140 MAD for a main (13€), and 70 MAD for a dessert (6,50€). The fresh juices are at 35 MAD (3€).

What I recommend on the menu:

I loved the vegetarian mezze as a starter!

Extra feedback: although Nomad was recommended by a lot of people, it wasn’t my favorite rooftop restaurant. We found that some of the dishes were less tasty than in other rooftop restaurants I have visited in Marrakech. But it’s still worth the experience!

M Rooftop

M rooftop is another one of these rooftop restaurants that you must visit in Marrakech! It’s part of the Medina Heritage Establishment, not far from the Jemaa El-Fna square. The first floor features a shop where you can find a large selection of handmade Moroccan items. And from the rooftop terrace you can enjoy the view of the Koutoubia minaret and the Old Marrakech!

On the menu you will find a gastronomic Moroccan cuisine as well as international dishes. They don’t serve alcohol but have mocktails (juice cocktails).

Prices:

Around 80 MAD for a starter (7,50€), around 110 MAD for a main (10€), and 70 MAD for a dessert (6,50€). The mocktails are at 50 MAD (4€).

What I recommend on the menu:

The chicken pastilla was amazing and I enjoyed trying all the Moroccan salads in the special starter assortment!

Café des Épices

Café des Épices is an iconic worldwide famous rooftop restaurant in Marrakech. It’s ideally located on Place des Épices (the square from which it takes its name) in the heart of the Medina and the souk. It was the first rooftop bar restaurant created in Marrakech: a pioneer! Its ocher color is very recognizable, and the decoration is paying a tribute to traditional Marrakech (red Marrakech tadelakt, wooden tables, woven reed furniture, …).

They serve food from breakfast to dinner. The menu offers a mix of Moroccan cuisine and some more international dishes. They don’t serve alcohol but have mocktails (juice cocktails).

Prices:

Around 50 MAD for a starter (4,50€), around 70 MAD for a main (6,50€), and 40 MAD for a dessert (3,50€). The mocktails are at 45 MAD (3,50€).

What I recommend on the menu:

We tried the sandwiches (vegetarian and chicken) and they were very good! It’s a Moroccan version of the sandwich with local bread. The vegetarian version had mezze spread on toasts and the chicken one looked like mini bao burgers.

Kosybar

Kosybar is a bar restaurant and spa located right close by El-Badi Palace and Bahia Palace. It features a terrace so it’s also part of the best rooftops in Marrakech! You can also see the Koutoubia Mosque from here.

They serve international dishes and Moroccan specialties.

Prices:

Around 60 MAD for a starter (5,50€), around 90 MAD for a main (9€), and 55 MAD for a dessert (5€). The cocktails are at 110 MAD (10€).
